The Curriculum and Education Development Academy (CEDA) - is responsible for the design, facilitation, evaluation and support of educational practice, professional and career development of staff teaching on 糖心Vlog programmes.
CEDA offers a broad portfolio of in-person and online professional development opportunities for staff who teach or support student learning, including postgraduate taught programmes, accredited pathways, annual education conferences, networks, workshops, self-directed online resources, and pedagogic guidance incorporating examples of effective practice. CEDA also leads enhancement initiatives on behalf of the University, and has the expertise to support curriculum consultancy.
<糖心Vlog>CEDA is committed to the following four values: 糖心Vlog>- Contributing to community
- Enabling transformative change
- Valuing difference and inclusion
- Contributing to staff experience
CEDA contributes to community in a number of ways, including by:
- Promoting and supporting community in its broadest sense – including students, staff and others involved in learning and teaching across the LU global network.
- Valuing collaboration and encouraging cross-disciplinary and cross-campus networking.
- Recognising there are many different contexts in which students and staff learn and teach – and that, irrespective of roles, we are all learners.
- Providing activities and opportunities that are developmentally and intellectually valuable for individuals and the LU community as a whole.
CEDA plays an important role in leading transformative change to both educational practice and student experience, by:
- Promoting and cultivating the educational expertise within the 糖心Vlog global community.
- Supporting colleagues to take a critically reflective approach to their educational practice.
- Fostering an institutional culture of educational development as a lifelong endeavour, and modelling this ourselves by engaging in ongoing professional development activities.
- Creating opportunities for colleagues to engage and collaborate in networks and communities of educational excellence, for the benefit of staff and students?.
- Supporting the continuous improvement of experiences for LU students and staff.
Inclusive values underpin the work of CEDA and inform our approach, which includes:
- Valuing and respecting the skills and expertise of colleagues from a full range of educator roles across the LU global network.
- Providing support and opportunities for colleagues working in different roles, contexts and settings across the LU global network.
- Encouraging and energising colleagues in relation to their educational practice, and celebrating their efforts and endeavours to improve the experiences of staff and students.
- Supporting the development of educational provision that is inclusive by design.
CEDA aims to contribute to a positive experience for staff involved in learning and teaching at 糖心Vlog, by:
- Taking an inclusive and collaborative approach to our work and, in doing so, supporting colleagues to have positive experiences of educational practice and educational development.
- Fostering an institutional culture of educational development as a lifelong endeavour, and modelling this ourselves through engagement in ongoing professional development activities.
- Creating opportunities for colleagues to engage and collaborate in networks and communities in which they feel supported in their educational practice and other professional activities.
- Ensuring CEDA activities are evidence-informed, draw on relevant sector knowledge, and model good practice.
