In February 2026, for Valentine's Day, we asked for your library loves or your library hates. You had lots to say!

  • Facilities – water fountains, the
  • The warm and nice atmosphere
  • Having a quiet space to work
  • The people – your friends and our staff!
  • Our leisure collections – , the , our DVDs, the childrens' books and the inclusivity of our books

  • The Reading Room (now with PCs!)
  • B Floor and C Floor
  • The Postgraduate Study Room
  • Our soft and comfy seating – especially the orange chairs!

  • Seeing people you don't like
  • Noise – people speaking in quiet or silent areas on B or C Floor, or setting off the fire shutter alarm (P.S. don't stand where the caution tape is – it beeps if it's obstructed!) Remember, you can
  • Plumbing issues – the broken hot water tap
  • The toilets or study spots being messy
  • Plug sockets not working
  • Having to do your work...
