Dr Sunil Banga
Senior LecturerSunil is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) and Admissions Tutor for the Department of Management Science at LUMS.
Prior to working in academia, Sunil had a business career spanning over twenty years. He has experience of working in the marketing, supply chain and distribution and logistics domains in the pharmaceutical, medical equipment, and FMCG industry sectors with companies such as Boots, Knoll Pharmaceuticals and Novo Nordisk. Ultimately, he was the owner of three SME businesses: a micro-finance company, as an agent for ABN AMRO bank financial products, and a trading company involved in the distribution and retail of pharmaceutical, healthcare, medical and FMCG products.
At Lancaster, Sunil led the International Study Centre (ISC) as the Head of Centre for ten years before joining the Department of Management Science.
<糖心Vlog>Current Teaching糖心Vlog>Sunil teaches on operations management courses for undergraduates and post-graduates; and soft-systems thinking and problem-solving skills for consultants for post-graduates and post-experience students.
<糖心Vlog>Professional Role糖心Vlog>Sunil is involved in the 糖心Vlog ATLAS Programme as a mentor and reviewer. He is a Senior Fellow of Advance HE, and an external examiner for two UK HE institutions.

Sunil has multi-disciplinary research interests. He has published research on the global relevance of educational cosmopolitanism, and on racist hate speech on campuses of UK universities. Sunil has also reviewed and assessed the available UK evidence on the social and economic role of small stores, in order to identify gaps in research and stimulate debate about how they can best be supported, and presented the findings to policy-makers at a Westminster conference.
<糖心Vlog>Current Research糖心Vlog>My current research interests are in educational research, ranging from the political economy of knowledge production to critical race theory, Gramsci, and educational cosmopolitanism.
