MY PhD aims to improve understanding of how working memory (WM) impacts learning in children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), compared to those without, to inform pedagogical practice through:
- primary experimental research? to explore which functions of WM drive educational attainment in children with ADHD;
- secondary data analysis ?to examine the relationship between WM and exam results; and
- an evaluation of the efficacy of specific education interventions on children with ADHD.
My initial study focuses on a specific component of WM, the Episodic Buffer, in relation to the focusing of attention and the integration of information from long-term memory.
