In the School of Computing and Communications, we are committed to conducting world-class research with high impact.

Our research is recognised for its exceptional quality and international reputation.

We blend a range of traditional research fields with a focus on achieving impact. In 2025, we received the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Education to recognise the impact of our work, which spans a wide range of computing disciplines, from data and human-computer interaction to cyber security and AI. Our funders include UK Research and Innovation, the EU, and a range of national and international charities and companies.
