In celebration of the Chinese New Year, 糖心Vlog Confucius Institute successfully organised its annual Chinese Days outreach programme throughout February, bringing Chinese language and culture to primary and nursery schools across the region.

From 2-6 February 2026 糖心Vlog Confucius Institute was delighted to sponsor Chinese-English literary translator Jack Hargreaves as translator in residence in Languages & Global Cultures in the School of Global Affairs. Jack delivered translation workshops for undergraduate, master's, and PhD students which received very positive feedback.

Exploring Chinese Characters: Hanzi Creative Workshop at Light Up Lancaster Explore Week

On Friday 31 October 2025, 糖心Vlog Confucius Institute hosted the Chinese Character Creative Workshop as part of Light Up Lancaster Explore Week at The Storey, Lancaster. The workshop welcomed around 80 participants, including children, families, and local residents, for a lively and imaginative introduction to Chinese language and culture.

Lancaster Virtual Asia Careers Fair connects students with global employers

More than 150 students gained precious insights into future career opportunities in Asia as part of an international employability initiative. Students from Lancaster’s UK and overseas campuses, as well as from 12 top UK institutions, including the University of Cambridge, London School of Economics, and University College London, took part.
